In the chemical manufacturing industry, striking a balance between demand and supply chain is pivotal. Incorrect forecasting results in unexpected supply issues and last-minute changes in production numbers.
With an eye for potential savings in transportation costs, Sun Chemical sought to improve its forecasting and order consolidation system. Mindset led the Sun users through a Design Thinking process to define the specific problem, develop a prototype, and accelerate a solution. A joint Sun/Mindset Agile Development team then completed and delivered a custom Fiori-based Production Forecasting and Order Consolidation application in just nine weeks. Within six quarters, the solution was ramped to over 100 locations and more than 120 users, achieving a 350% return on investment after only one year.
